The ǿմý Campus Safety Office learned that on Thursday, July 10, 2025, a residential burglary occurred in the 1900 block of Mignon Ave between 9:00 a.m. and noon. The location is about a half mile from campus. The Memphis Police Department is actively working on the case. Today, June 4, 2025, at approximately 2:42 a.m., a vehicle (golf cart) was stolen from the King Hall Lot. This location is ǿմý property. There is no suspect information at this time. The Memphis Police Department is actively working on the case.

Information:
On Friday, May 23, 2025, ǿմý sent a timely warning concerning a vehicle being stolen from the East Village C Lot at approximately 5:41 a.m. This vehicle has not been recovered. Additionally, it has been reported that one room in East Village B and two rooms in East Village C were burglarized prior to the vehicle theft. The keys to the vehicle reported stolen were taken from one of the East Village C rooms. All property taken from the East Village B burglary has been recovered.
A person of interest has been identified. With the help of the Memphis Police Department, an arrest warrant has been issued for the suspected perpetrator. The attached photo is of the suspected person. If you see him, please do not approach. Instead, contact Campus Safety immediately at 901-843-3880.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Memphis and surrounding areas from Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. CST to Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. CST.
Due to hazardous ice and snow conditions, travel during this storm will be difficult and impossible to cross parts of the Mid-South. Please monitor travel advisories and adjust travel plans as recommended.

Residence Halls open for move-in at Noon on Sunday, January 12, 2025. To prioritize the community's safety, we are not accepting early arrivals. Classes begin on Wednesday, January 15, so you have time to travel safely and settle in.

ǿմý Campus Safety and Institutional Equity are investigating a reported hate crime of intimidation based on racial bias. Writings were found near the NPHC monument on Saturday, November 30, 2024, that contained profanity and a racial slur. There are currently no suspects. ǿմý Campus Safety has received reports of scam phone calls being made to parents of some of our student-athletes. This is a national scam that has occurred at institutions across the country.
Parents of several student-athletes have received scam calls from numbers ”spoofing” the ǿմý Campus Safety phone number. During these phone calls, the caller claims to be a ǿմý Campus Safety Officer and tells the parent that their son or daughter has been arrested for underage drinking or something similar and that money is needed to bail them out. They request immediate payment be made (via Venmo, bank transfer, or other electronic means) in order to release their son or daughter from custody.
Please be aware that ǿմý Campus Safety will never make a call to solicit money. If you receive such a call, it is fraudulent. Please report the call to ǿմý Campus Safety
It is not believed, at this point in time, that there has been a data breach as many student-athlete's media profiles contain the names of parents on the public website.
